Whose Contact Is Shown on Zillow?

Sellers often ask whether buyers can actually reach them once a listing syndicates out to Zillow and Realtor.com. With FlatFeeMLS, the short answer is: your own number is what's published, by default.

Your Number, By Default

When your home is listed through FlatFeeMLS, your own contact info goes into the MLS listing itself — the same feed that syndicates out to Zillow, Realtor.com, Homes.com, and everywhere else. There's no brokerage call center or office number inserted in between. The number a buyer sees and calls is yours, unless you choose the optional Call Forwarding upgrade to use a dedicated forwarding number instead.

A Note on Zillow's "Contact Agent" Buttons

Separate from your listing's phone number, Zillow shows its own "Request a tour" or "Contact agent" forms on many listing pages as part of its advertising program. Those forms can route to Zillow's partner agents rather than to you directly. Your listing's actual phone number — the one in the MLS data — still goes straight to you regardless of what those separate lead-gen buttons do.

Realtors vs. the Public

Licensed agents logged into the MLS see your full contact info and showing instructions directly — that's how the MLS is designed to work for professional coordination. The general public sees the same phone number on Zillow, Realtor.com, and other consumer sites, since that's the number published with your listing. Either way, a call about your home reaches you. Frequently Asked Questions

Whose phone number shows up on my Zillow listing?

Your own, by default. FlatFeeMLS publishes your direct contact info in the MLS listing that syndicates to Zillow and other sites, unless you add the optional Call Forwarding upgrade.

Do Zillow's 'Contact Agent' or 'Schedule a Tour' buttons go to me?

Not always. Those specific buttons are part of Zillow's own advertising program and can route to partner agents. Your listing's published phone number is separate and goes directly to you.

Can I keep my personal number off Zillow entirely?

Yes, with the optional Call Forwarding upgrade, which publishes a dedicated number that forwards to your phone instead of your personal cell.
